New Delhi, Jul 20: The RNRL- RIL gas dispute has taken a new turn, Anil Ambani is now accusing the Oil Ministry of favouring his brother Mukesh Ambani and has reportedly written a letter to the Prime Minister on the same.
Anil Ambani's firm Reliance Natural Resources Ltd (RNRL) and Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Ltd are fighting for shares in the KG Basin gas.
In his letter to the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, Anil Ambani has urged him to direct the oil ministry not to intervene in the commercial dispute of two corporate houses.
"We are not making any claims whatsoever that impact the government's rights and entitlements on gas from KG Basin under the production sharing contract (PSC) between RIL and the government,'' Anil Ambani's letter states.
He argues that his group was only seeking gas supply from RIL's lawful share of entitlement of production. And that this was not from the government's share. As per the PSC, RIL has the freedom to market its share of gas, which the ministry has stated on various occasions in Parliament, the letter dated Jun 15 claims.
The government, on Friday, Jul 17 filed a petition claiming that the KG gas belonged to the government and belonged to neither of the Ambani brothers.
