Srinagar, July 19 (ANI): Blood samples of the four policemen charged for dissipation and suppression of evidence in the rape and murder of two women in Shopian town were taken here on Sunday.
Medical officers assisting the investigation of Shopian murder took blood samples of the four police personnel, who are presently in police custody.
Blood samples of Shopian Police Superintendent Javed Iqbal, Deputy Superintendent of police Rohit Baskotra, Station House Officer Shafeeq Ahmad and Sub-inspector Qazi Abdul Karim, were collected by the medical officers, sources said.
The samples were taken on the directions of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
The Kashmir High Court, earlier this week, had ordered for the arrest of these four suspended J and K police and ordered for the preparation of DNA profiles and narco-analysis of these officers.
The blood samples for the DNA mapping of these officers have been collected before the Registrar Judicial, as per the directions of the J and K High Court.Meanwhile, the counsel for the arrested police officials alleged that the blood samples were collected forcefully.
Earlier this month the Kashmir Valley witnessed violence following the alleged rape and murder of two women by the police officials. The Court also constituted a Special Investigative Team to probe this case. (ANI)
