BSP to protest against UPA Government's policies on July 22

Lucknow, July 18 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati announced that her party would carry out State wide agitation in Uttar Pradesh on July 22 against the policies of the UPA Government at the centre.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Mayawati criticized the Center's decision to hike the prices of petroleum products.

"The UPA government has no concern about poor and Dalits, the hike in the petroleum will ultimately leads to hike in consumable items. Congress knew only to catch the votes by distributing notes," Mayawati said.

The CM said that she would send the details of the development work done during her two years tenure to all the Congress MPs.

" I have instructed officials to send the copies of the booklet to all the congress MPs, and especially to 'Yuvaraj of Congress,'(the scion of Congress) so that they can come to know about the developments made by BSP Government in the state," Mayawati said.

Several memorials had been built in the name of Nehru-Gandhi family across the country.

Taking pot shots at Congress party, Mayawati said," How many memorials, parks, and museums were dedicated to the members of Nehru-Gandhi family, whether that ever stopped development of the country? If the state Government built the memorials for the Dalit leaders, saints and respected persons, what's wrong in that?"

Mayawati said the cost of all memorials built in Uttar Pradesh in the last two years is not even equal to the land value of Ghats of Nehru -Gandhi family in Delhi, indicating Rajghat and Shakti Sthal in the National Capital.

Mayawati also alleged that Congress is responsible for the migration of large-scale laborers from the state.

"People especially poor, migrated in large numbers during the forty years rule of Congress party in the state, why didn't the that party took development works then to stop migration" Mayawati questioned.

Quoting the Sachar Committee fiinding, Mayawati said the people belonging to minority suffered a lot during the tenure of Congress governments.

Mayawati also called Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi to introspect about the development work made during the tenure of Congress in the state, which ruled for nearly 40 years and the same party was in power in the centre. (ANI)
