Beckham confronted by angry LA Galaxy supporters

By Super Admin

Los Angeles, July 18 (ANI): English footballer David Beckham was confronted by angry fans on his return to American Major League Soccer (MLS) club LA Galaxy.

Galaxy fans were visibly discontented with Beckham's extended stint with Italian giants AC Milan, as they ended up booing the star every time he touched the ball during a match against the New York Red Bulls, The Sky News reports.

Though LA Galaxy won the match 3-1, it was not enough to cheer the crowd up.

As Beckham left the pitch on his returning match on Thursday, Galaxy supporters made their feelings known, jeering at the star. The stadium, which had once been packed full with those trying to catch a glimpse of the international celebrity, was left three-quarters empty throughout the game.

Despite of all the negative reaction from the crowd, Beckham did not seem too offended by it and said: "It's sometimes nice to get the boos. It gives you some inspiration. The most important thing is for us to get three points, and tonight we did that in style."

Galaxy had loaned the 34-year-old to Milan on the condition he would return for the entire 2009 Major League Soccer season, however Beckham ended up staying in Europe for longer and eventually coming back when the Italian League ended on May 31. (ANI)
