Washington, July 17 (ANI): Former Republican presidential candidate John McCain's daughter, Meghan, has railed against "Joe the Plumber", the man her father's presidential campaign touted as an American everyman and made a showpiece of the weeks before the election.
"Joe the Plumber-you can quote me-is a dumbass. He should stick to plumbing," Politico quoted her, as saying.
Megahn's remarks come more than five months after Joe visited the Gaza Strip as a war correspondent.
Joe, who goes by the name Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, was then said to be strategizing politically with the Republicans Conservative Working Group as a featured guest.
This group is an organization of conservative Capitol Hill staffers who meet regularly to chart GOP strategy for a given week.
Wurzelbacher became a household name during last year's presidential election.
He acquired fame earlier this year for seeking answers from Barack Obama about tax cuts, but has also said that he has been left appalled by the stances taken on issues by McCain, especially on the 700 billion dollar bailout package.
Recalling a conversation he had with McCain about the 700 billion dollar financial industry bailout in September, Wurzelbacher said: "When I was on the bus with him, I asked him a lot of questions about the bailout because most Americans did not want that to happen."
Asked why he didn't leave McCain's campaign if he was "appalled" by the candidate, Politico quoted Wurzelbacher as saying then: "Honestly, because the thought of Barack Obama as president scares me even more."
While Wurzelbacher was critical of McCain during the interview, he had nothing but praise for his running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
"Sarah Palin is absolutely the real deal," he had said. (ANI)
