Peshawar, Jul 16: A UN official of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was shot dead and two others injured on Thursday, Jul 16 in an attack by unidentified gunmen in Pakistan, UN officials said.
UN spokesman Janos Tisovzky said, "A national staff of UNHCR at the Kutcha Gari camp has been a victim of a kidnapping attempt that turned into a shooting." He added that he was shot in the chest several times and he was rushed to hospital.
Another UN spokeswoman, Stephanie Bunker said, "He was in the camp. There was a shooting and he was shot in the chest. He died after being shot in the chest."
