New York, Jul 15: A top UN official on Wednesday, Jul 15 said Lashkar-e-Toiba in Pakistan is still active and there is real threat to India as it might strike terror to increase tensions between Pakistan and India.
Richard Barrett, coordinator of the UN Security Council's al-Qaeda and Taliban Sanctions Monitoring Committee said, "Lashkar-e-Toiba tactics is quite obvious. It is trying to increase tensions between India and Pakistan at a time when they and their associates are particularly under pressure in western Pakistan."
Barrett also said, "They may do that again," adding that "this is the real risk". LeT which is responsible for Mumbai terror attack in India, has been declared as a terrorist organisation by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
