JK Murder: Police identify 'love angle', arrest 2

Srinagar, Jul 15: The police have cracked the Maisuma case which sparked off massive protests in various areas of Srinagar about a week ago. The Srinagar police who have identified a 'love angle' to the case have arrested two youths in the relation to the alleged murder of a second year college student, Asrar Ahmed Dar.

The arrested youths, Imran and Azim got to know a girl on the internet who was close to Imran. But when the girl said that Asrar was her boyfriend, jealosy was aroused in Imran. And this could have been the motive behind Imran to kill Asrar , the police say.

Imran kidnapped Asrar and took him to a house in Ilahibagh area. After killing him with a gym rod, he dumped the body near Malkha area.

When Asrar's body was found, Maisuma and other parts of Srinagar on Jul 8 saw protestors who accused the security forces of killing the youth.
