Omar Abdullah to expand his ministry today
New Delhi, July 11 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is expanding his cabinet today by inducting 13 new faces, including a woman minister.
Abdullah is inducting five members from his National Conference, and eight members from coalition partner Congress.
Governor N N Vohra will administer the oath of office and secrecy in a ceremony at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar.
With today's expansion the strength of the six months old National Conference and Congress coalition Government will raise to 23.
Sakina Itoo, who has faced five suicide attempts on her life by militant organizations, would be the first woman minister in Omar's cabinet.
Other prominent members who are expected to join the ministry include, Nasir Sogami, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Qamar Ali Akhoon, Raman Bhalla and Manohar Lal Sharma among others. (ANI)
