On Board special flight, July 11 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that all necessary measures have been taken to resolve all outstanding issues that have bedeviled India's relations with Pakistan, but it requires credible action on the part of Pakistan to deal with.

Addressing a press conference onboard after attending the G8-G5 summit at L'Aquila in Italy, Dr. Singh said, "I have often said India and Pakistan are close neighbours.

I have always believed that if India is to realize its development ambitions, its place in the community of nations, we require to work with our neighbours to bring about peace and amity in South Asia."

Commenting on talks with Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Dr. Singh said, "I look forward to my meeting with Gilani for any exchange of views. I do hope that meeting will have a renewed reaffirmation on the part of Pakistan that they will bring perpetrators of Mumbai massacre to justice."

"After my meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, our High Commissioners have met. There were also talks with ISI chief and Pakistani Foreign Office. They have provided information about the action they are taking against the masterminds of Mumbai attacks. We hope that they will take some more concrete steps," he said.

Speaking on terrorism, Dr. Singh said, " Wherever I go in whichever fora whether G-8 or G-5 in every forum, I highlight the views of India which is the victim of terrorism for more than two decades.

I always appeal to the leaders of the world to pressurise Pakistan to leave the path of terrorism and adopt friendship."

He further said that they would not allow Pakistani territory to be used for terrorist acts directed against our country.

"Terrorists elements directing their energy to disrupt and destabilise our economy and polity," Dr. Singh added.

The Prime Minister further said: "There are difficulties in our relationship, but I have not given up hope. Let me say that what I have said to Zardari. I not intended to say that in the presence of media. I simply forgot that media was present there. It was not my intention to hurt Zardari's feeling." (ANI)
