Academic cheating 'common' in China
New Delhi, July 11 (ANI): Almost half of those working in the field of science or any other related field in China's research institutes, universities, medical institutes, and hospitals think that cheating is "common" in the country's academic circle, suggests a survey.
The study, that quizzed 30,078 participants, was headed by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).
About 43.4 percent of the subjects said that plagiarism was "really" or "rather" serious in China, while 45.2 percent were worried about fabrication, reports the China Daily.
Another 55.5 percent were sure of at least one case of plagiarism, fabrication or sending one thesis to numerous journals for publication, among science researchers they knew in real life.
A total of 18.4 percent of them accorded the reason to incompetent supervision. (ANI)
