Sushma Swaraj disappointed with Chidambaram's briefing on Varun's security
New Delhi, July 9 (ANI): Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj has expressed her disappointment over the briefing given by Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on BJP leader Varun Gandhi's security.
Swaraj said she is not satisfied with Chidambaram's briefing and rather disappointed.
She refused to disclose details of her meeting as she said she would like to respect Chidambaram's sentiments as expressed in the letter.
Responding to her allegation of the letter being leaked to the media, Chidambaram said it had not been leaked, but officially uploaded on the ministry's website.
Rejecting the BJP's allegation on of adopting a "lackadaisical" attitude on Varun's security, Chidambaram said the MP has been provided with adequate protection.
In his letter to Swaraj, Chidambaram clarified that as in the case of every other protected person, the level of security provided to Varun is periodically reviewed.
The issue of Varun Gandhi's security surfaced after the arrest of six shooters allegedly belonging to Chota Shakeel gang in Delhi last week. (ANI)
