SC seeks status report on Aarushi's Murder case

New Delhi, Jul 8: The Supreme Court of India on Tuesday, Jul 7 asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) why there were no status reports on the findings from the investigation of the Aarushi Talwar murder case May 2008.

The bench of Justice Altmas Kabir and Justice Cyriac Joseph sought updates on the case.

Aarushi Talwar was founded murdered on the terrace of her house on May 16, 2008 and the domestic help's body was recovered a day later from the same terrace.

At first the domestic help was the prime suspect. However, after his body was found, Aarushi's father Rajesh Talwar was arrested. The police were forced to release him due to lack of evidence.

The case that took the limelight in the Indian television media scene became a sensational one. After all the theories and speculations created a havoc in the media, the case eventually calmed down to resurface now due to this Supreme Court order.
