Heavy rains lash Mumbai, Met dept expects more
Mumbai, Jul 8: Heavy rains continue to lash Mumbai and fill the roads reminding the country of the horrific floods the city had faced just a few years back. Waterlogging in low lying areas have caused traffic troubles around the city. And the air traffic too have been disrupted.
Since the visibility had been reduced to just 200 meters flight schedules were affected and runway operations were suspended at the Mumbai airport. The runway operations resumed at around 10 am.
The Met department that is still worried over the lack of rains in the Northern region said that Mumbai would see some more heavy showers along with gusty winds and thunderstorms in the next 48 hours.
Interestingly, in the city struggling with heavy rains and waterlogging the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has imposed 30 per cent water cut across the metropolis.
