Ranchi, Jul 7: It was only a month ago that Dhoni's fan's in Ranchi burnt his effigy expressing their anger against India's debacle in ICC World Twenty. But the fans seemed to have forgiven their beloved captain as they made sure they celebrated his 28th birthday in a way that was fit for a king.
Hundreds of fans gathered at the Mecon Stadium cutting cakes and disturbuting sweets. Wishing their hero all the success, the fans shouted 'Long Live Dhoni'.
"The club has resolved to set up a cricket academy to felicitate young talents from the deprived section of the society," said President of the Dhoni Fans Club, Jitendra Singh.
The small town boy who climbed the ladder of rags to riches the tough way has lead the Indian team five ODI series wins in a row. Wherever Mahindra Singh Dhoni is right now, he must be celebrating this birthday in a special way as it coincides with the 3-1 victory against West Indies.
