London, July 6 (ANI): Manchester United's fans have been assured that the club's American owners will allow Sir Alex Ferguson to splash the cash.
The Florida-based Glazer family, who own American Football franchise Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have been identified as the lowest spenders in the entire NFL over the past five years.
Some United supporters are worried that the 80-million pounds that has been received from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid will not be handed to Ferguson to reinforce his squad.
But a spokesman for the Glazer family said: "When it comes to transfer policy at Manchester United, the situation is the same now as it has been since the owners came to the club.
"Sir Alex Ferguson identifies which players he wants at the club and he is then given 100 per cent backing in the transfer market."
Fans have been looking for Ferguson to sign a big name striker to fill the void left by Ronaldo.(ANI)
