Bangalore: Student ends life in front of Dean
Bangalore, Jul 2: K J Ramesh, a 3rd-year student of the University of Agricultural Sciences (UAS) committed suicide for allegedly being harassed by faculty members on Wednesday, Jun 1.
Earlier, Ramesh was suspended a fortnight ago for his overnight stay at college hostel without informing the authorities concerned.
He was asked to appear before a disciplinary committee meeting around 03:30 pm. Around 12:30 am, he went Dean (PGS) Nanjappa's chamber to discuss the meeting, pleading not to be harsh as the proceedings would hamper his future.
When Nanjappa refused to bail him out, Ramesh pulled out a bottle of poison from his pocket and drank from it. He was later rushed to a private hospital and was declared dead.
