Air India employees to get salaries on Jul 3

New Delhi, Jul 2: After weeks of high drama, the Air India employees will be getting their salaries on Friday, Jul 3.

"Air India is working towards paying wages and salaries to its employees in the lower grades on July 3 as part of the decision finalised at a meeting with the unions last week," an airline spokesperson said.

The airline is taking steps as per the promises made to the unions earlier. The spokesperson said that the process is taking time as the payments are being made to selected employees as a special case on Jul 3 instead of the earlier decision of doing so in the middle of the month.

He rubbished reports that stated that the payments will not be made on Friday, Jul 3.

In the meetings between the unions and the management, it was finalised that salaries of around 70 per cent of the unionised workforce would be paid on Friday, Jul 3.
