'Best job in the World' winner says he'll miss his mum
Sydney, July 1 (ANI): 'Best job in the World' winner Ben Southall says that he will miss his family during his six months stint as caretaker of a Great Barrier Reef island.
The 34-year-old Briton emerged victorious among 34,000 entrants in Tourism Queensland's contest.
He'll be paid 150,000 dollars for six months' work from today as caretaker of the island and global promoter of the region via an Internet blog.
In an interview to Nine Network, Southall said that while he would be a caretaker, he saw himself more as an "ambassador".
"I've really got a very full itinerary, flying away to different parts of the barrier reef to go and explore it, to go and write about it, and then to try and sell it to the rest of the world," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted him as saying.
He said that he would miss his mum's Sunday roast.
"She'll (his mother) sit us all down as a good family does on a Sunday and we'll all have a good roast, and that was just one of the things I said was going to obviously be missing out of my routine," he said. (ANI)
