Melbourne, Jun 30: Accounting for the 20th racial attack on Indian Students in Australia, 22-year-old Sikh student was reportedly attacked by a group of six teenagers who tried to remove his turban to cut his hair in Dandenong Station, Melbourne.
The new vicim, Resham Singh who hails from Punjab is in Australia studying Hospitality course. Singh who came to Australia only six months ago does not speak English.
"They first abused me and left and then again came back with more people and also got a pair of scissors along with them. They tried to remove my turban and cut my hair," Singh reportedly said speaking in Punjab.
The Victoria police have confirmed the arrest of two of the six assailants but withheld the identity.
"The youths from Dandenong -aged 13 and 15 years- were charged with intentionally causing serious injury, recklessly causing serious injury and assault in company," a police official said.
