Silvio Berlusconi may be quizzed about sex scandal
London, June 29 (ANI): Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi might be questioned regarding the sleazy allegations swirling around him.
The 72-year-old media tycoon-turned-politician, though not under investigation, might be quizzed as part of the inquiry into Giampaolo Tarantini, a local businessman at the centre of a scandal involving women sent to parties hosted by the Prime Minister.
Tarantini is also under investigation for supporting prostitution, reports the Telegraph.
Earlier, Barbara Montereale, a model, revealed that Patrizia D'Addario, a prostitute, had told her that she had had sex with the politician.
Marco Dinapoli, Bari assistant prosecutor, told the city's local newspaper Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno: "I prefer to talk about certainties - at the moment calling in Berlusconi is only a hypothesis."
According to the insiders, the scandal could be a huge embarrassment as he prepares to host the G8 summit next month.
They fear that the scandal may overshadow the summit. (ANI)
