AI holds talks with unions to avert strike
Mumbai, Jun 29: Air India management is holding talks with its employee unions on Monday, Jun 29 in order to avoid strike on the of postponement of salaries issue in June.
Indian Airlines Technicians Association (IATA) president M S Kulkarni said, "We are holding talks with the management in afternoon today to work out a solution."
He also said, "We have already held several rounds of talks with the management but have not yet reached any agreement. We are hopeful that today's talks will yield some solution." He also added that if salaries are not paid on Jun 30, "then we will adopt the stand of no salary, no work."
Earlier, Air India's management on Jun 13 announced that payment of Jun salaries to its 31,000 employees was being postponed due to recession in the company.
