London, June 28 (ANI): Serbian tennis star Ana Ivanovic, a former World No. 1 player, has claimed that she is currently a better player than in the period during which she was ranked World No.1.
"At the moment I feel better on the court than I felt then. My game has improved and so has my serve. I get much more speed on it and also much more variety," the Sunday Express quoted Ivanovic, as saying.
After a year-long lull, current World No.12 Ivanovic is gradually working her way back to the form that helped her seize the top ranking.
"I felt like I needed some more matches to get confidence and I feel like I'm getting that back. I went through a lot over the past year, being No1, having some disappointing losses and some tough times," Ivanovic added.
Ivanovic's remark follows her astounding run at the All England Club, where she knocked out Australian Samantha Stosur in the third round.
She will now face reigning Wimbledon champion Venus Williams in the fourth round. (ANI)
