New Delhi: In a significant development, Bharatiya Janata party president Rajnath Singh on Saturday accepted the responsibility of the party's defeat in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls.
Rajnath accepted the responsibility at the two day BJP national executive meet, which began here to assess the reasons for the party's defeat in the elections. This is the first major gathering of the party leader to discuss the electoral failure.
Mr Rajnath Singh also made it clear that BJP is not ready to shed or dilute its Hinduvta elemenat as he clarified that "it has not been rejected by the people". However BJP president accepted the fact that party failed to put across its brand of Hindutva or "cultural nationalism", which stands for a way a life and is "liberal and tolerant", to most people in an articulate manner.
