Srinagar: Grenade blast kills 1; tourists panic
Srinagar, Jun 20: A powerful hand grenade explosion was triggered off in Srinagar on Friday, Jun 19 killing one and injuring two people.
The grenade was reportedly hurled at a bus carrying Indian tourists in the India-held Kashmir (IHK) Region. But it missed and hit a vegetable vendor killing the vendor on the spot and wounded two others.
“Initial investigations reveal that the bus carrying tourists was the actual target (of militants)," a police official said.
The tourists are now in a state of panic due to this incident. There are more policemen patrolling the region after the blast.
