New Delhi, Jun 19: Despite the Air India employees warning of an indefinite strike if there was a delay in the July salaries; the company has reportedly asked its senior employees to voluntarily give up salaries and productivity linked incentives.

The state-run airline takes this step as it battles to fight the liquidity crunch.

Air India made this announcement in a statement on Friday, Jun 19 asking executives in the level of general managers and above to forgo salaries and incentives for the month of July.

The firm had earlier said that the payment of the salaries and their incentives for the month of June will be delayed by 15 days. Reacting to this the employees warned that they will go on an indefinite strike if the July salaries were delayed too.
