Chitrakoot encounter: Dacoit shot dead
Chitrakoot, Jun 18: DGP of Uttar Pradesh has confirmed that the dacoit, Ghanshyam Nishad alias Nanhu has been killed. It was only a few minutes back that media reports suggested that the dacoit had escaped. However, the 48-hour-gunbattle finally turned fruitful when the police managed to shoot him while he was fleeing the encounter site.

long
encounter
ended
up
in
a
failure
as
the
dreaded
dacoit,
Ghanshyam
Nishad
managed
to
escape.

In one of a kind encounters, a lone dacoit has managed to fight against 400 policemen for 40 hours at Chitrakoot village in Jamauli in Uttar Pradesh.
The dacoit, Ghanshyam Nishad armed with rifles and hand grenades has killed up to four policemen and injured at least five others including the state IG and DIG.
He is hiding in a village comprising of 40 houses. The police have evacuated the village. Additional Director General of Police is managing the operations.
Planning to smoke him out, the police have set the house, in which the dacoit has holed up, on fire.
The encounter started off on Tuesday, Jun 16 and the police have nabbed the other members of the gang.
