Lucknow, Jun 16: The Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University declared the result of Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test 2009 (CPMT) on Monday night, Jun 15.
The Pre-Medical Test was held on June 4 and taken by about 7000 students. This test is conducted for admission to various medical courses in Government and recognised, approved Medical, Dental, Homeopathic, Ayurvedic and Unani Colleges of Uttar Pradesh.
Six slots of the ten toppers were secured by students falling under the category of Other backward caste (OBC). Varanasi's Rashmi Singh, an OBC candidate emerged as the top rank holder with with 192 marks. Scoring 190 marks, Ashfaq Khan and Diwaker of Kanpur bagged the second and third rank.
OBC candidates put out a brilliant performance for the second consecutive time. The 2009 results reveal that about half of the candidates in the top 100 were OBC candidates.
