H1N1: 7 more cases confirmed, AP launches helpline

New Delhi, Jun 16: The number of H1N1 influenza cases commonly known as Swine Flu are on a raise in India. With seven more confirmed cases reported on Monday, Jun 15 the total cases has gone up to 30 now.

The new cases are those of a group of students who visited the United States on a study trip to NASA.

As per media reports, automated Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) for information on swine flu was launched in Hyderabad on Tuesday, Jun 16. The initiative was launched by Health Minister Danam Nagendar, and its a a joint collaboration between the Government of Andhra Pradesh, BSNL and Voice Gate Technologies.

The toll free helpline can be accessed by dialing 12506 from any BSNL telephone in Andhra Pradesh to know about the deadly virus.

The information is offered in English, Telugu and Hindi. Also the contact numbers of the state's swine flu management facilities can be accessed through SMS. For this service, an SMS with the text H1N1HYD" should be sent to 55352.
