London, June 13 (ANI): Manchester City ace player Robinho has urged Argentinian striker Carlos Tevez to drop another bombshell on Manchester United, by joining him at rivals City.
United fans are still reeling over the 80 million pounds sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid. And they face the prospect of losing another idol in Tevez, who is leaning towards a 32 million pounds switch to Manchester City.
Tevez has gone on holiday to weigh up his options and contemplate whether Ronaldo's departure will affect his own situation.
Robinho is praying that Manchester City can get their man and pledged to do everything he can to convince his fellow South American to join City, The Sun reports.
"We would definitely complement City's attack. I hope my club makes a move for him. It would be a pleasure to play with Carlos. He is one of the best players in the world and it is a shame he is not having more opportunities at his current club," Robinho said.
"If he leaves United - as I have been reading in the last few days - and if the interest of City gets confirmed, of course I will try to convince him to join us. I am sure we would make a fiercesome duo up front. He is so fast and combative with great technique," he added.
Robinho, 25, is off to the Confederations Cup in South Africa with Brazil but is keeping a close eye on developments at City.
"If Carlos comes to City, and if the club manages to get two or three players of the same quality we can aspire to big things," Robinho pointed. (ANI)
