London, Jun 13 (ANI): Colonel Muammar Gaddafi has earned himself praise from hundreds of leading Italian women, after he condemned the Arab and Muslim world for treating their women "like pieces of furniture".
Gaddafi, 67, was addressing women from political, cultural, and economic backgrounds at the Auditorium concert hall where he called for a "world female revolution", reports Time Online.
In his speech, he said that too often Muslim men treated women as "pieces of furniture which you can change when you want, and no one will ask you why you have done it".
Gaddafi, who travels with a squad of female bodyguards dubbed The Amazons by the Italian press, was at the formal gathering organised by Mara Carfagna, the former topless model and TV host, who was last year appointed Equal Opportunities Minister by Silvio Berlusconi, the Prime Minister. (ANI)
