"Fettered" Qadir says he would not rejoin PCB even if offered 10 million rupees

By Super Admin

Lahore, June 12 (ANI): Furious over not being given enough working space in the selection procedure of the national cricket team, former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief selector Abdul Qadir has said that he would not join the board again even if offered ten million rupees for the same.

Qadir had resigned from the chief selector's post earlier this week saying the PCB has overlooked him and other selectors regarding the players' selection, and that the coach and captain of the team have been given all the powers.

Qadir said he had discussions with the PCB officials over several plans to improve the status of the game in the country, but the board did not allow him to work freely on his plans.

He charged the PCB Governing Board member Shakeel Sheikh of ruining the board.

"Sheikh is the cancer of the cricket, he should be kept at arm's length from cricket," The News quoted Qadir, as saying.

He said that if he had the powers, he would have dropped both Shoaib Malik and captain Younis Khan from the team, as he had spotted a clash between then during the Dubai series. (ANI)
