Train blast kills one, injures 35 in Pakistan city
Islamabad, June 11(ANI): At least one person was killed and 35 left injured on Thursday in a bomb explosion in a train in Quetta city of Pakistan.
According to a railway official, the bomb was hidden in a toilet and exploded on a train.
"It was a bomb planted in a toilet in an economy class carriage. Rescue work is underway. It is a far-flung area and we are facing difficulties to shift the injured to hospital,' the railway official added, Dawn reported.
"The blast occurred in the third wagon of the Bolan Express, traveling from Karachi to Quetta, some 40 kms from Quetta," Pakistani Railways Ministry Spokesman Abid Mohammad said.
Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has condemned the blast and given order to investigate the incident.
Meanwhile, a local TV channel reported the Baloch Republic Army, a banned group, claiming the responsibility for the blast. (ANI)
