Bolt wins Laureus Sportsman of the Year gong, vows to stay off drugs

By Super Admin

Toronto (Canada), June 11 (ANI): Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt won the Laureus Sportsman of the Year here last night, and vowed to stay clean.

Triple Olympic gold medallist Bolt races in Toronto tonight.

Toronto is home to athletics' most reviled drugs cheat, Ben Johnson.

Johnson, 47 and now a grandfather, was stripped of his 100m Olympic gold in 1988 after testing positive for drugs.

The Sun quoted Bolt, as saying: "It's vital to bring back some respectability to the sport. I don't remember much about Ben Johnson but the sport lost a lot of credibility. If you work hard and want something enough, you can get it. You don't have to cheat." (ANI)
