Thirty-three stranded Mansarovar pilgrims evacuated to Nepalganj
Kathmandu, June 10 (ANI): Thirty-three stranded Indian pilgrims returning from Kailash and Mansarovar have been evacuated to Nepalganj on Wednesday.
With this, forty-seven pilgrims have been evacuated.
Meanwhile, Indian doctors are providing medical care to pilgrims.
Local flights have also resumed their services from Kathmandu to Simikote on Nepal-China border so that pilgrims resume their journey.
Indian Embassy in Kathmandu is in constant touch with authorities in Nepal to provide safety to pilgrims.
Located 18 miles south east of Mount Kailash, the circular lake Mansarovar or Tso Rinpoche is a part of the 64-mile circuit undertaken by pilgrims.
Bathing in the lake, or even sprinkling water from it on one's head is said to provide enormous spiritual benefit. Hindus making the trip are told to immerse themselves completely if they want to enter the celestial kingdom. (ANI)
