Madrid, Jun 10: Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said that the Spanish football club was still looking forward to somehow get the Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo even after signing up Brazilian Kaka for a world-record fee of 59 mn pounds.
Perez has been diplomatic in his attempts to snare Ronaldo, but there is no question that Real are again attempting to put pressure on Manchester United to sell.
The fee required even to tempt Old Trafford officials would need to break the record that Real - who plan to pull off several other big-money deals - set for Kaka.
Perez said: "I will do everything possible to get Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid. Kaka is just the first signing."
"Ronaldo is a great player who we would like to bring to the club. But first we have to speak to Manchester United because the important thing is to maintain a good rapport with everyone. We are always thinking about great players," Perez was quoted as saying.
"Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are among other great players around the world. We all know that these are players that we would like to buy. But they can't all come," he added.
