Rahul Gandhi too busy to meet Kalavati!
New Delhi, Jun 10: Kalavati, who became a mascot of Indian poor (Aam Admi) after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi mentioned her name in Lok Sabha, during his speech, complained that her sufferings are still the same. She said, instead her connection to the youth icon of Congress is working against her.
Kalavati, a widow from Vidarbha village, who has nine children to feed said that the local administration in Maharashtra has not kept any of its promises (house, electricity, funds for children's education within 15 days) which were made by Rahul.
"Instead every time I time tried to approach the BDO, I am told to go the panchayat samiti and the panchayat sends me to a higher authority, but to no avail so far. Some officials have also told me that I should go to Rahul Gandhi, the one who made the promises to me to solve my problems," said Kalavati to media. She came to New Delhi with hopes of meeting Rahul Gandhi. However the MP's office sources said to her that he is too busy to meet.
Kalavati who lost all her hope also said that after Rahul, many other leaders too visited and made promises, none of which are fulfilled. The NGO, 'Wada Na Toro Abhiyan' is helping Kalavati at present.
