Pearl Continental may have to be rebuilt after Peshawar blast
Peshawar, June 10 (ANI): Tuesday's blast at the Pearl Continental Hotel situated in Peshawar's most secure area once again exposes the security lapses, and raises doubts about when this landmark becomes functional again.
Earlier, the mausoleum of the great Pashto poet Rahman Baba located on the outskirts of Peshawar was damaged. The beautiful white marble building, a landmark of Peshawar, had to be demolished, as it could have collapsed at any moment.
The hotel will be rebuilt in the city's Khyber Road area.
The hotel is located next to the residence of the Peshawar corps commander, the Golf Club, the Peshawar High Court, the NWFP Assembly and other heavily protected buildings.
The private security arrangements of the hotel will also be reviewed despite being upgraded in the wake of the Marriott Hotel blast in Islamabad. (ANI)
