Terry confident about England beating rivals in run-up to World Cup

By Super Admin

Almaty (Kazakhstan), June 7(ANI): Following the success the England football team is enjoying in the World Cup qualifying rounds, captain John Terry says England can beat anyone.

"Six out of six is great, but there is far more to come from this team. We are heading in the right direction and I'm convinced we'll be where Fabio wants us to be next summer," The Sun quoted Terry, as saying here.

It was an optimistic message from Terry despite England not looking totally convincing in the early stages of the victory.

"This is a massive win on the way to where we want to be. It really is a big win. It was a difficult game. We knew that was going to be the case. For the first 40 to 50 minutes, I thought they worked really well, but after that they seemed to tire," Terry added.

Victory against Andorra at Wembley on Wednesday will virtually rubber-stamp England's passage to next summer's finals.

David Beckham, who made another late appearance from the substitutes' bench, joined Terry in claiming that this England team has what it takes to make a major impact.

"There's huge potential in this squad. We've got great players but it is just about playing the way we know we can play," Beckham said. (ANI)
