AF 447 crash: France sends sub for search opns

Recife, Jun 6: In an effort to bolster the search operations for the crashed Air France flight AF 447 France has sent a nuclear submarine.

Officials have revealed that the French submarine is on its way to the crash zone which is off Brazil's northeast coast. The search is trying to black boxes from flight AF 447 which was lost in its way to Paris after taking off from Rio de Janeiro.

Two other Brazilian navy vessels were expected to join the search operations on Friday, Jun 5 adding to three vessels that are already in the zone.

The head of air traffic control for the area, Brazilian Brigadier Ramon Cardoso, reportedly said "we have not made any recovery of material."

He added that the there were a few articles floating around in the sea but were 'not relevant'. The terrible weather condition was limiting visibility and the currents were changing directions, he said, which added to the difficulty of the search operation.
