Paris, Jun 4: Air France on Thursday, Jun 4 said to the families of passengers aboard missing Flight 447 to abandon any hope for survivors. Air France's CEO Pierre-Henri Gourgeon said to the families that the plane broke apart either in the air or when it slammed into the ocean's surface.

Mr Guillaume Denoix de Saint-Marc, who was asked by Paris prosecutors to help counsel family members, said on Thursday "what is clear is that there was no landing. There's no chance the escape slides came out." Military rescue planes were trying to narrow the search zone on Thursday as ships headed to the site to recover wreckage.

Rescue workers have found more debris, but so far there were no bodies of the passengers were found. The plane, carrying 228 people, disappeared after leaving Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) for Paris on Sunday, May 31 night.
