Gwalior, June 3 (ANI): A voluntary organization recently distributed pouches of chilled water to passengers travelling in the ordinary compartments of trains in Gwalior.
A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Junior Chamber International, came forward to provide respite to the passengers from the summer heat by distributing one hundred thousand pouches of water.
Vinay Aggarwal, vice president, Junior Chamber International, attributed the programme to his fellow associates.
"We discussed among ourselves that for one day we will gather at the platform and distribute one hundred thousands pouches of water and with all our associates this has been possible," said Aggarwal.
The members of this NGO started distributing water pouches at 6:00 a.m. and continued doing so till 9:00 p.m..
Train passengers applauded this effort and were very satisfied by the gesture.
Swati, a train passenger travelling from Haridwar, appreciated the gesture.
"This is a very good thing. There is nothing greater than distributing free water to the thirsty," said Swati.
While the other passenger, B.S. Chauhan was very satisfied with this arrangement.
"In this scorching heat if you are making such arrangements, this a very good thing. I'm very satisfied by this gesture," said Chauhan.
With the temperatures touching a high of 43 degrees, there is nothing more satisfying than getting a cold and purified water right in your train compartment. By Ashok Pal (ANI)
