Patna, Jun 1: Protesting over the Railway Ministry's decision to withdraw stoppage of several trains at Khusrupur station, angry locals attacked the two trains, uprooted tracks, and torched relay room on platform of Khusrupur railway station.

After setting three bogies of 3226 down Danapur-Jainagar Intercity Express on fire the angry locals attacked Rajgir-Danapur Intercity Express on Monday, Jun 1. They uprooted railway tracks upto several meters along with setting the relay room on fire.

Earlier East Central Railway announced stoppage of several trains including Rajgir-New Delhi Shramjivi Express and Kosi Express at Khusrupur in an advertisement published in a local newspaper.

Few media reports suggest that the protests was led by the Rhastriya Janata Dal (RJD) party workers as an insult to the newly appointed Railway minister Mamata Banerjee who took over the ministry from RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.
