Chennai, May 29: MK Stalin, son of DMK supremo and Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi was appointed as the Deputy CM of the state on Friday, May 29.
Stalin presently is the TN Local Administration Minister. S S Barnala the state governor announced the appointment on the recommendation of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief Karunanidhi
Reports suggest that the Chief Minister has taken this crucial decision in view of his health condition. Stalin's appointment is also seen as a step towards announcing him as heir apparent to Karunanidhi.
On Thursday, May 28 Karunanidhi's elder son MK Azhagiri was sworn in as the Cabinet minister.
