Satyam likely to sack 8,000 non-billable staff
Hyderabad, May 25: Satyam Computers is planning to sack most of its non-billable staff. This may affect about 8,000 employees working in marketing, HR and administration wings.
However Satyam spokesperson said that these media reports are mere speculation. It is likely that after the new owner Tech Mahindra directors come on board from Jun 1 there will be large-scale layoffs.
There are also reports that Tech Mahindra may opt for 'virtual pool' sacking method where by the company would ask some of the staff to take 75 pc of its salary and take one-year off and look for a job elsewhere, with a mild assurance that they would be recalled.
