The White Ribbon bags Golden Palm
Cannes, May 25: The White Ribbon,a film by Austrian director Michael Haneke bagged the 'Golden Palm' awards at the Cannes International Film Festival.
The film is a study of malice in a German village on the eve of World War I. French Director Jacques Audiard won the Grand Prix for his prison drama Un Prophet. Meanwhile the Austrian actor Christoph Waltz won the award for best actor for his role in the new Quentin Tarantino film 'Inglorious Bastards'.
Best actress prize went to French thespian Charlotte Gainsbourg who plays a lead role in the Danish thriller 'Antichrist'.
