Colombo, May 23: Speaking at an interview on the topic of Sri Lanka winning the war against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam(LTTE) Sri lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa said he wished that the LTTE chief V Prabhakaran was caught alive so that he could have faced trial in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

Joking that if Prabhakaran was caught alive, he would then be 'India's headache' he said, "I wish we had captured him alive. Then we could have sent him to India to face trial for killing former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi."

Expressing the relief he felt over clearing the terrorists from the country he revealed the secret of his success to be, "I united the forces and allowed our commanders to fight the battle. I gave them support."

On India, he said that as a neighbour it was India's obligation to provide aid to Sri Lanka in healing the war-ravaged country. He added that India should not worry about the relationship between China and Sri Lanka saying, "China is our friend like many others, we bought arms where we could procure them from. India shouldn't worry. We are not only friends with India but we have a relationship with it."
