New Delhi, May 23: In an effort to bring back the upset ally, Congress on Friday, May 22 expressed hope that M Karunanidhi-led DMK will accept its 'revised' offer in relation to the allotment of the Cabinet berths.
According to Congress sources, DMK has now been offered three Cabinet posts, one Minister of State (independent charge) and three MoS. In the portfolio front, Congress is ready to allocate Chemicals and Fertilizers to T R Baalu, Heavy Industry to A Raja, IT or Telecom to Dayanidhi Maran and Women and Child Development to Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimozhi.
Apart from this Congress has indicated that Health Ministry could given to Karunanidhi's son M K Azhagiri.
Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh met on Friday evening, May 22 to revise its offer to DMK in order to convince them to join the government. The party has reportedly communicated its intentions to DMK and the response is awaited.
