Nagpur, May 21: A 7-year-old girl was found dead in suspicious circumstances in a car owned by Maharashtra BJP chief Nitin Gadhkari on Wednesday, May 20.
Police said that the girl died of suffocation after she accidentally got locked inside the car. They said that the incident took place on Wednesday, May 20 when Yogita Ashok Thakre, daughter of a domestic help entered Gadkari's vehicle, while playing outside his house in Gadkariwada in the Mahal area of the city.
Yogita's body was later found from the car. Police have registered a case of accidental death and said that the girl was not raped and murdered. However the girl's family alleged that the girl was raped before being killed.
But the post-mortem revealed no foul play. The doctor who conducted the post-mortem reported that the girl died of smothering (suffocation).
