Ahmedabad, May 18: Bharatiya Janata Party leadNarendra Modi in his first reaction after the polls on Monday, May 18 indicated that he will continue to be the Chief Minister of Gujarat and continue to take it on the path of development.

"Gujarat will continue its journey on the path of development," Modi said at the Ahmedabad airport before leaving for Delhi.

He added, "I also request the United Progressive Alliance government to pursue the path of development."

The failure of BJP in the Lok Sabha Elections is not the end of politics he said.

Apart from this he added that he never projected himself as a prime ministerial candidate.

"My stand has always been clear that I am from Gujarat and will keep working for the state," he said.

After the results were out, the BJP had said that projecting Modi as a potential prime ministerial candidate was an 'analytical error'. Narendra Modi has campaigned for the party throughout India during the pre-poll stage.
